With roots in Melbourne and a training base in Huangshan, Tianqi brings an international perspective to his pursuit of competitive golf. He began training full-time in July 2025, following eight years of structured tennis training.
Fluent in English and Chinese, he is building his game across cultures, courses and competitive environments.

Head coach Cui Minggao leads Tianqi’s technical development and oversees the overall planning of his pathway towards professional golf. He has coached Li Haotong and Dou Zecheng.

Assistant coach Yang Chao oversees Tianqi’s day-to-day training, following through on coach Cui Minggao’s lessons. He helps Tianqi understand, practise and consolidate technical changes, turning lesson content into consistent daily practice.

Drawing on his strong understanding of human biomechanics, Zhuangzhuang uses targeted physical training to help Tianqi address physical limitations that affect his golf swing, supporting technical development and athletic performance.

A goal for 2028.
Tianqi visited the 2027 China Tour Qualifying School at Ancient Saltern Golf Club in Hainan to experience the qualifying environment. His goal is to earn China Tour playing status for the 2028 season.
The next goal:
China Tour 2028.
Tianqi’s next competitive goal is to earn China Tour playing status for the 2028 season. Beyond that, his ambition is to progress towards professional golf and international tours through purposeful practice and tournament experience.
